Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,440 new cases, 1,133 recoveries, 19 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 89,263 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,440 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,531 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 13,781 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 88,229 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 23,507 cases are active currently. Among them, 12,316 are in home isolation, and 11,191 are hospitalised. Likewise, 244 are in intensive care units, and 43 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 65,202 people have achieved recovery whereas 554 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 1,133 people have been discharged whereas 19 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 73 per cent.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Siraha, Sunsari, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Manang, Mustang, Rukum East and Dolpa do not have any active cases.

Over 4,000 people are quarantined across the country.
