Nepal Covid-19 tally: 238 new cases, 370 recoveries, 1 death in 24 hours

Kathmandu, November 21

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 914,333 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry said 238 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 7,845 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 232 returned positive. Likewise, 1,278 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 6 tested positive.

Of total tests, 2.95 per cent of the PCR and 0.46 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 2.60 per cent.

As of today, there are 7,164 active cases across the country. Of them, 468 are hospitalised, 227 in intensive care units and 51 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 370 people have achieved recovery whereas one death has been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 800,359 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,496 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.7 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 40,414 people were vaccinated today.
