Nepal Covid-19 tally: 23 new cases, 215 recoveries, 0 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, March 27

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,118,445 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry said 23 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 3,780 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 15 returned positive. Likewise, 1,442 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional eight tested positive.

Of total tests, 0.39 per cent of the PCR and 0.55 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 0.44 per cent.

As of today, there are 1,558 active cases across the country.

In the past 24 hours, 215 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were zero deaths recorded today.

Of the total cases so far, 964,823 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,951 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98.6 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 24,691 people were vaccinated today.
