Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,020 new cases, 871 recoveries, 7 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, September 18

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 61,593 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,020 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 11,458 swab samples were tested. So far 894,373 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far, 43,820 people have achieved recovery whereas 390 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 871 people have been discharged whereas seven deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 71.1 per cent.

The other 17,383 cases are active currently. Of them, 9,295 are hospitalised whereas the remaining 8,088 are in home isolation.

Of those hospitalised, 173 are in intensive care units and 36 on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Siraha, Sunsari, Makawanpur, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Solukhumbu, Rasuwa, Mustang, Dolpa, Mugu, and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 7,700 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
