Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,551 new cases, 2,340 recoveries, 9 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, October 6

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 90,814 of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,551 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,017 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 11,047 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 99,276 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 22,709 cases are active currently. Among them, 13,591 are in home isolation, and 9,118 are hospitalised. Likewise, 243 are in intensive care units, and 40 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 67,542 people have achieved recovery whereas 563 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 2,340 people have been discharged whereas nine deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 74.3 per cent.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Sunsari, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Solukhumbu, Manang, Mustang, Rukum East and Dolpa do not have any active cases.

Over 4,200 people are quarantined across the country.
