Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,459 new cases, 1,062 recoveries, 11 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, September 15

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 56,788 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,459 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 10,375 swab samples were tested. So far 861,780 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far, 40,638 people have achieved recovery whereas 371 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 1,062 people have been discharged whereas 11 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 71.5 per cent.

The other 15,779 cases are active currently. Of them, 8,139 are hospitalised whereas the remaining 7,640 are in home isolation.

Of those hospitalised, 174 are in intensive care units, and 28 are on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Sunsari, Makawanpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Solukhumbu, Mustang, Myagdi, Dolpa, Mugu, and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 7,200 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
