Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,356 new cases, 823 recoveries, 2 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, September 22

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 66,632 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,356 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 11,154 swab samples were tested. So far, 934,977 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far, 48,061 people have achieved recovery whereas 429 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 823 people have been discharged whereas two deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 72 per cent.

The other 18,142 cases are active currently. Of them, 9,193 are hospitalised whereas the remaining 8,949 are in home isolation.

Of those hospitalised, 223 are in intensive care units and 37 on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Siraha, Makawanpur, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Taplejung, Solukhumbu, Myagdi, Rasuwa, Mustang, Dolpa, Mugu, and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 7,100 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
