Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,204 new cases, 1,447 recoveries, 11 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 62,797 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,204 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 10,333 swab samples were tested. So far 904,706 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far, 45,267 people have achieved recovery whereas 401 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 1,447 people have been discharged whereas 11 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 72 per cent.

The other 17,129 cases are active currently. Of them, 9,153 are hospitalised whereas the remaining 7,976 are in home isolation.

Of those hospitalised, 179 are in intensive care units and 35 on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Siraha, Sunsari, Makawanpur, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Solukhumbu, Myagdi, Rasuwa, Mustang, Dolpa, Mugu, and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 7,700 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
