Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,201 new cases, 852 recoveries, 14 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, September 12

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 53,120 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,201 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 10,176 swab samples were tested. So far 831,362 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far 37,524 people have achieved recovery whereas 336 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 852 people have been discharged whereas 14 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 70.6 per cent.

The other 15,260 cases are active currently. Of them, 9,107 are hospitalised whereas the remaining 6,153 are in home isolation.

Of those hospitalised, 160 are in intensive care units and, 24 on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Sunsari, Sarlahi, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Lalitpur, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Solukhumbu, Manang, Mustang, Myagdi, Dolpa, Mugu, and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 6,354 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
