Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,170 new cases, 879 recoveries, 15 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, September 14

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 55,329 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,170 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 10,878 swab samples were tested. So far 851,405 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far, 39,576 people have achieved recovery whereas 360 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 879 people have been discharged whereas 15 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 71.5 per cent.

The other 15,393 cases are active currently. Of them, 8,118 are hospitalised whereas the remaining 7,275 are in home isolation.

Of those hospitalised, 179 are in intensive care units, and 29 are on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Sunsari, Sarlahi, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Solukhumbu, Manang, Mustang, Myagdi, Dolpa, Mugu, and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 6,800 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
