Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,154 new cases, 1,005 recoveries, 16 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, September 21

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 65,276 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,154 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 9,533 swab samples were tested. So far 923,830 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far, 47,238 people have achieved recovery whereas 427 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 1,005 people have been discharged whereas 16 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 72 per cent.

The other 17,611 cases are active currently. Of them, 8,921 are hospitalised whereas the remaining 8,690 are in home isolation.

Of those hospitalised, 196 are in intensive care units and 31 on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Siraha, Makawanpur, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Solukhumbu, Myagdi, Rasuwa, Mustang, Dolpa, Mugu, and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 7,400 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
