Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,128 new cases, 2,215 recoveries, 14 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, February 11

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,109,382 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry said 1,369 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 17,447 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 666 returned positive. Likewise, 3,542 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 462 tested positive.

Of total tests, 3.81 per cent of the PCR and 13.04 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 5.37 per cent.

As of today, there are 27,441 active cases across the country. Of them, 991 are hospitalised, 206 in intensive care units and 36 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 2,215 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were 14 deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 932,822 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,878 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 96 per cent and the death rate is 1.3 per cent.
