Nepal Covid-19 tally: 112 new cases, 429 recoveries, 0 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, March 10

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,117,664 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry said 112 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 6,801 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 77 returned positive. Likewise, 2,527 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 35 tested positive.

Of total tests, 1.13 per cent of the PCR and 1.38 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 1.20 per cent.

As of today, there are 5,340 active cases across the country. Of them, 110 are hospitalised, 34 in intensive care units and 5 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 429 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were zero deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 960,497 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,949 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98.2 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.
