Nepal Covid-19 tally: 111 new cases, 415 recoveries, 1 death in 24 hours

Kathmandu, February 27

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,116,191 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry said 111 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 6,486 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 94 returned positive. Likewise, 3,224 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 17 tested positive.

Of total tests, 1.46 per cent of the PCR and 0.52 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 1.14 per cent.

As of today, there are 8,517 active cases across the country. Of them, 232 are hospitalised, 81 in intensive care units and 10 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 415 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there was one death today.

Of the total cases so far, 956,413 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,935 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.9 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 41,369 people were vaccinated today.
