Nepal Covid-19 tally: 105 new cases, 320 recoveries, 3 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, March 3

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,116,761 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry said 105 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 2,248 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 70 returned positive. Likewise, 2,476 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 35 tested positive.

Of total tests, 3.11 per cent of the PCR and 1.41 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 2.13 per cent.

As of today, there are 7,517 active cases across the country. Of them, 168 are hospitalised, 61 in intensive care units and 9 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 320 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were three deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 957,808 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,944 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 124,788 people were vaccinated today.
