Kathmandu, January 9
Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called on all sides involved in West Asia to refrain from doing anything to escalate tensions in the region.
In a statement on Thursday, the ministry has also expressed concern over the developing situation in the region. As a large number of Nepalis work in the region, their safety is Nepal’s primary concern, said the ministry.
The statement calls on all sides not do anything that would jeopardise the peace and stability of the region. All issues and differences need to be resolved through peaceful means, said the government.
The statement comes after Iranian the killing of an influential Iranian general in Baghdad by the US and subsequent attacks by Tehran on US targets in Iraq.
