Australia, October 27
Nepal and Australia will carry out a study in a bid to launch the direct flight service between two countries.
In a meeting held between Nepali Ambassador to Australia Lucky Sherpa and Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs Julie Bishop in Canberra on Thursday, offices of two countries agreed to carry out the study.
During the meeting, Sherpa had requested Bishop to manage direct flights as there are thousands of Nepalis working and studying in Australia. She had told the Minister that the direct flights would also facilitate movement of tourists and traders.
In response, Bishop had said tourism and transport ministries of both the countries would coordinate to launch the service.
She had also informed that Australia recently launched online visa application system and hoped that many Nepalis benefitted from it.
Sherpa also took the opportunity to inform Bishop about contemporary political situations including preparations for provincial and federal parliamentary elections. She also extended a Nepal visit invitation to the Minister.
