Kathmandu, August 27
Nepal Army (NA) has made a significant achievement in terms of clearing its arrears for the fiscal year 2018/19. According to NA spokesman Bigyan Dev Pandey, the army has cleared Rs 6.28 billion out of the total arrears of Rs 9.33 billion.
“Even though we had targetted to clear only 60 per cent, we are delighted that we were able to clear around 76 per cent,” Pandey added. He added that 97 per cent of the remaining arrears was advance arrears and that the army was working hard to reduce it to zero.
Spokesman Pandey said the status of arrears clearance by the army was improving lately as the organisation was sensitive and active towards reducing the arrears in its name.
