Kathmandu, May 12

The ruling Nepal Communist Party has called a meeting of its standing committee meeting for 11 am on Wednesday. The meeting will be held at the party’s central office in Dhumbarahi of Kathmandu.

Earlier, the meeting was called for May 7. However, it was postponed indefinitely at the last hour, citing the leaders could not prepare an agenda for the meeting.

Twenty standing committee members, however, had accused the leadership, chiefly Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, of trying to avoid the meeting and criticisms against the government. Earlier, they had forced the leadership to call the meeting.

Though the meeting will kick off tomorrow, it will be just a formal one, and further discussions will be held only after the government presents annual budget statement in Parliament on May 28, according to a leader.
