Kathmandu, October 2
The ruling Nepal Communist Party has called a meeting of the party’s secretariat for Saturday.
A meeting between two chairpersons of the party–KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal–decided to summon the meeting of the secretariat at 4 pm on Saturday. However, a secretariat meeting says the meeting schedule has not been published formally.
Leaders close to the two chairs say the meeting will discuss recent political appointments.
As the government on Thursday appointed Shanker Das Bairagi as the chief secretary and nominated Yuba Raj Khatiwada and Lok Darshan Regmi for Nepal’s ambassadors to the United States and the United Kingdom respectively, some NCP leaders are said to be not satisfied with the decisions as Prime Minister Oli did not consult the party about them.
