The ruling Nepal Communist Party has decided that each member of the federal parliament representing the party give donate their salary of one day to victims and survivors of the Sunday storm in Bara and Parsa districts of southern Nepal.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, the leader of NCP parliamentary party, directed deputy leader Subas Chandra Nembang to deposit each lawmaker’s one day pay in a relief fund. Earlier, the party’s lawmaker Yogesh Bhattarai had floated the proposal.
At least 31 people had been killed in the storm on Sunday night. More than 500 are injured.
