Kathmandu, March 5
The deadline for lodging complaints against 64 Nepali Congress candidates vying for different leadership positions and witdrawing candidacies has ended. At the ongoing 13th NC general convention, no cadre lodged their objection against any candidate, Gopal Krishna Ghimire of the election committee informed. There were complaints against 1-2 candidates vying for NC central working committee positions, but they were unsubstantiated.
At the end of the deadline, the committee approved the candidacies of all 375 candidates vying for seats in the 64-member CWC.
But the committee has received more than 50 applictations for the withdrawal of candidacies, according to Ghimire. As per the committee’s deadline, candidates can withdraw candidatures up till Saturday afternoon.
