Naya Shakti reviewing poll performance to set up new strategy

A meeting of the Naya Shakti Party Nepal

Pokhara, January 1

Baburam Bhattarai-led Naya Shakti Party Nepal is beginning an extensive meeting of its leaders to review the party’s performance in recent local, provincial and federal elections.

The meeting scheduled to begin in Lwang village of Kaski district on Tuesday will also set up the party’s new strategy. It will last for three days.

Leaders say the meeting will specifically discuss if it will form an alliance or merge with ‘old’ political forces or will continue its independent journey.

“We will discuss if we failed to educate people about our agendas or people could not understand us,” the party’s Publicity Department chief Prashant Singh says, “We will issue a declaration after mapping the new strategy.”

“Serious discussions will be held on our policies, our journey so far and next strategies.Every attendee will get a chance to share their opinions openly.”

The party says over 250 leaders from different parts of the country will attend the meeting. Top leaders including Bhattarai have gathered in Pokhara to prepare for the meeting today itself.
