Kathmandu, March 13
Police in the Morang district of eastern Nepal have arrested two persons on the charge of murdering a two-year-old infant.
A family in Sundarharaicha municipality-7 of the Morang district on Friday had reported that their 21-month-old child was missing. Later, she had been found unconscious inside a bush nearby and had died during treatment at Nobel Medical College the next morning.
In connection with the case, police arrested Ajaya Chaudhary and Mithun Chaudhary, according to SP Janardan GC of the District Police Office.
Both of the suspects are neighbours of the victim. Police are parading them amid a press meeting in Biratnagar later this afternoon.
Sundarharaicha ward 7 chairperson Chaitanya Sitaula says blood was coming from the victim’s vagina, hence locals have suspected rape before the murder.
However, further investigation is underway.
