Kathmandu, September 21

A monitoring team led by Minister for Livestock Development, Santa Kumar Tharu, has found 28 dead goats being supplied to Kathmandu for upcoming Dashain festival.

They dead animals were loaded in the boot of the passenger bus travelling to Kathmandu from Nepalgunj as the team seized them from Naagdhunga today,

There were 13 living goats inside the boot, informs Ramu Sigdel, an aide to the Minister.

It has been suspected that the goats died on the journey for the want of sufficient temperature and oxygen level.

Similar incidents were reported before Dashain in previous years too as the demand for mutton surges in Kathmandu Valley during the festival.
