Kathmandu, March 15
Padam Kunwar, who had earned notoriety for slapping Pushpa Kamal Dahal over seven years ago, has been arrested in Naya Baneshwar of Kathmandu on Saturday evening.
During a tea party in Bhrikutimandap of Kathmandu on November 16, 2012, Kunwar had slapped the then chairman of the CPN-Maoist Centre.
However, police have clarified that he was not arrested on the charge of slapping the current executive chairman of the ruling party yesterday. DSP Durga Raj Ragmi, the chief of the Metropolitan Police Circle, Baneshwar, says he was arrested after he unauthorisedly entered the Parliament building premises. He says the police are investigating why Kunwar entered the premises.
Kunwar had a scuffle with the guards on the premises before getting arrested yesterday.
