Literary conference in Lumbini

Kathmandu, March 3

The 39th annual international conference of the Literary Association of Nepal (LAN) was held in Lumbini Buddhist University, Lumbini on Sunday and Monday.

The theme of the conference was “the spiritual in literature”, and the participants of the conference from different countries presented papers about various aspects of spiritualities.

The programme was organised in collaboration with Lumbini Buddhist University.

Highlighting the importance of spirituality, the chief guest of the programme, Lumbini Buddhist University Vice-Chancellor Hridaya Ratna Bajracharya presented his inaugural address. Similarly, the conference convener and LAN general secretary Khum Prasad Sharma highlighted the objectives of the conference.

The event included paper presentations, panel discussions, public speeches, literary quiz, and creative writing. About 45 paper presenters presented their papers, which were grouped in various themes of spirituality, like literary spiritualities, aesthetic spiritualities, secular spiritualities, and multiple spiritualities.
