LCN leads walkathon to support children with autism in Nepal

Ladies Circle Nepal (LCN) hosted a walkathon in Kathmandu on Saturday to raise awareness and support for children with autism. The event brought together individuals from all walks of life, underscoring the community’s commitment to inclusivity and understanding.

The walkathon route passed through several key landmarks in the city, symbolizing the collective journey toward acceptance and support for individuals on the autism spectrum.

The event is part of LCN’s national initiative, the Leading Awareness for Autism Program (LAAP), which aims to provide specialized education and support for children with autism spectrum disorders in Nepal.

Funds raised from the walkathon will contribute to the construction of additional classrooms and facilities at the Special School for Disabled and Rehabilitation Centre (SSDRC), expanding its capacity to serve more children with autism.

Risha Gadia, National President of Ladies Circle Nepal, expressed her gratitude to all participants and supporters, stating, “Our motto for the year, ‘Dream. Manifest. Succeed.,’ reflects our commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of children with autism. This walkathon is a step forward in our journey toward a more inclusive Nepal.”
