Chitwan, January 17
A landslide has obstructed the Narayangadh-Muglin road in Chitwan district. Consequently, traffic police have allowed only one-way vehicular movement via Charkilo, Ichchhakamana rural municipality-6 of the district.
Hundreds of vehicles have been stranded halfway on both sides, informs the District Police Office.
Police say the personnel have been mobilised from the District Police Office and a few other nearby police posts to remove the landslide debris. However, it has been difficult to clear the road due to continuous rainfall.
The road used to be obstructed by several landslides frequently in the past few years as an expansion and upgrading project was ongoing there. Though the project has been completed, effective measures to block the landslides have not been introduced yet.
