Kathmandu, November 25

The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police has arrested Lambodar Neupane, the then chairman of Nepal Engineering College.

In February 2019, a member of the Commission of the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, Raj Narayan Pathak, was found to have received Rs 7.8 million as bribe from Neupane. Following the revelation, Pathak had resigned from the constitutional anti-corruption watchdog so as to avoid impeachment.

A team mobilised by the CIB arrested him in Kathmandu this afternoon. DIG Sahakul Thapa says the CIB had received a complaint against Neupane that he defrauded various people of Rs 37.1 million.
