Kimff 2018 to begin in Kathmandu this Friday

Kathmandu, December 2

The 16th edition of Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (Kimff) will begin in Kathmandu on Friday, December 7, say the organisers.

Organised by Himal Association, the event will be held at Nepal Tourism Board and Rastriya Sabha Griha till December 11. Nepal Tourism Board and Kathmandu Metropolitan City among others are also involved in hosting the annual event.

More than 70 films including documentaries, fictions, shorts, experimental films and animations from 31 countries will be screened back to back during the event, according to the organiser.

‘Women move mountains’ has been chosen as the tagline of the event and it will seek to explore the role of women in society and engage them in filmmaking and fil appreciation.

Meanwhile, the event will also hold a short film competition on the theme of ‘travel is an attitude’ for Nepalis below 35.

There are many other prizes in various categories.
