Kathmandu Gorkhas defeated Biratnagar Kings by nine wickets after bowling them out for just 83 runs in the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

Chasing a modest target of 84, Kathmandu reached 86/1 in 9.4 overs, completing a comfortable victory with 62 balls to spare.

David Warner led the chase with an unbeaten 44 off 24 balls, striking two fours and three sixes. William Bosisto remained unbeaten on 23 off 24 deliveries, while Sahil Patel contributed 10 before being dismissed by Aprajit Poudel.

Earlier, Biratnagar struggled against a disciplined Kathmandu bowling attack and were bowled out for 83 in 18.3 overs.

Rupesh Singh was Biratnagar’s top scorer with 26 off 27 balls, while Angelo Mathews made 22 from 31 deliveries. However, the rest of the batting line-up failed to make significant contributions.

Santosh Yadav was the pick of the Kathmandu bowlers, claiming three wickets for 11 runs in three overs. Karan KC also took two wickets, while Sahan Arachchige claimed two for seven in his two overs.

Shahab Alam and Dev Shah picked up one wicket each.

Biratnagar lost wickets at regular intervals and were reduced to 35/7 before Rupesh and Mathews attempted to rebuild the innings. Their partnership provided some resistance, but it was not enough to set a competitive target.

The result gave Kathmandu a convincing victory, with Warner’s aggressive batting ensuring there was little pressure in the chase.
