Butwal, March 7
An India-registered truck has hit an autorickshaw driver, killing him on the spot at Odari, Banganga municipality-11 of the Kapilvastu district in Lumbini on Sunday evening.
The victim has been identified as Anil Gaha Magar (26), a resident of the same place, who used to drive the rickshaw (Lu 1 Ha 1923).
The truck (MP 08 GA 4068) had hit him and dragged him 50 metres away, killing him on the spot at around 8:30 pm yesterday.
Following the incident, the locals vandalised the Pipara police beat demanding action against the truck driver. Police have arrested him, but further investigation is underway.
