Kathmandu, September 29
Four passengers were injured after a rock fell onto a moving bus at Chorkhola in Kapilvastu on Tuesday morning.
According to Armed Police Inspector Dil Kumar Shrestha, the rock fell on the bus, registration number Su Pa Pra 01-001 Kha 3770, at around 1:30 am at Chorkhola in Shivraj Municipality-1. The bus was travelling from Chitwan to Bardiya.
The injured have been identified as 37-year-old Dwarika Prasad Tharu and 35-year-old Suresh Lal Tharu of Gorakha Rural Municipality-2, Bardiya; 20-year-old Salina Sunar of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-11, Chitwan; and 40-year-old Bhagawati Kandel of Bhimdatta Municipality-10, Kanchanpur.
Shrestha said the injured passengers were trapped by the seats after the rock struck the bus. They were rescued and taken to Bhalubang Hospital in Dang for treatment.
A team of the Armed Police Force, Nepal, No. 29 Jwalamai Battalion, Dang, led by DSP Baburam Thapa, carried out the rescue after receiving information about the incident.
There were 30 people travelling on the bus.
