Kapilvastu, February 15
Ten people have died in a road accident that took place near the Surahi Bridge in Shivaraj Municipality in Kapilvatu on Thursday.
The accident took place when a passenger bus (Su-Pa-Pra-02-001 Ba 0098) operated by Sunaulo Mahakali Transport fell some 200 meters off the road on its way to Kathmandu from Mahendranagar at around 1 am.
According to Kapilvastu District Police Office, 10 people died on the spot in the accident.
The deceased have been identified as Narayan Bahadur Bhandari of Rautahat, Arjun Kumar Yogi of Salyan, Sakil Muslim of Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, India, Rahulram Kami, Umesh Bhandari, Sanju Thapa, Khageshwari Khati and Sudeep Bhatta of Bhimdatta Municipality, Kina Bhatt and Bimaladevi Bhatt of Punarwas Municipality.
Likewise, 30 others were injured in the accident, of which nine have been rushed to Butwal, said Police Inspector Navaratna Paudel.
The remaining are undergoing treatment at local medical centres including the Sanjeevani Hospital.
