Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it is trying to get the details of the terrorist attack in Kabul, which, according to Afghanistan’s Ministry of Interior, has killed 14 Nepali security guards and left five more Nepalis injured.

The ministry said it is trying to get the details from Nepal’s Embassy in Pakistan, which looks after Afghanistan as well.

MoFA assistant spokesperson Sudhir Bhattarai said they are yet to get the exact details of the attack.

He said: We are yet to receive information on the number of Nepalis, who died in the attack. We are seeking the details from the Nepali Embassy in Pakistan.

Though the government of Nepal has imposed a ban on sending Nepali workers to Afghanistan for employment, smugglers often take Nepali nationals to the war-torn country, promising them good pay and perks.  In many instances, they take the workers to Afghanistan in the name of finding plum jobs for them in other international job markets.
