Kathmandu, March 21

Chinese Foreign Affairs Minister Wang Yi is visiting Nepal this weekend, confirms the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Observers have been keenly looking at the visit as China has been repeatedly objecting to Nepal’s endorsement of the US government’s Millennium Challenge Corporation deal recently.

Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Wang is visiting at the invitation of his Nepali counterpart Narayan Khadka, from March 25 to 27.

During the visit, Wang will pay courtesy calls on President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. Likewise, he will hold bilateral talks with Minister Khadka on Saturday, March 26.

Wang Yi is also scheduled to meet CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal also.
