Indian national killed at Kathmandu hotel during midnight spat

Kathmandu, December 28

An Indian national was killed at a hotel in Gaushala of Kathmandu at around midnight on Wednesday.

Police say Aditya Gurung (35) from Siliguri of India was killed by staff of The Amadablam Hotel last night. Earlier, the drunken staff had a spat with the victim, informs SSP Rabindra Dhanuk at the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu.

SP Ram Datta Joshi says Gurung breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Sinamangal-based KMC Hospital. His head had cut injuries while he was taken to the hospital. Police say the body has been sent for autopsy.

It has been said the victim is a relative of Maiti Nepal founder and famed social worker Anuradha Koirala.

Meanwhile, police arrested five persons for their alleged involvement in the incident.

Further investigation is underway.
