Kathmandu, September 27
Kathmandu’s skies began clearing on Sunday afternoon, with sunshine now visible over the valley after four consecutive days of rain.
According to meteorologist Sanjib Adhikari of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s forecasting division, the low-pressure area near India’s Uttar Pradesh has weakened, reducing rainfall activity in Nepal, including over the Kathmandu Valley and the wider Bagmati region, where the monsoon has also weakened.
Moisture-laden winds from the Bay of Bengal had moved toward central Nepal overnight, but with the low-pressure system now gradually fading, only limited residual rain activity is expected today.
Rain is still forecast in various parts of the country this afternoon, though heavy rain is expected in only one or two locations.
