Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla is coming to Nepal this Thursday and Friday on an official visit.

Although the visit was confirmed a few weeks ago, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the visit scheduled formally on Monday only.

The ministry says Shringla is coming to Nepal at the invitation of his counterpart Bharat Raj Paudyal.

“The visit is in continuation of the regular exchange of high-level visits between the two friendly neighbours,” the ministry’s statement reads.

On the first day of the visit, the foreign secretaries of the two countries will hold a bilateral meeting and discuss wide-ranging areas of cooperation between Nepal and India, according to the ministry.

The guest will also call on other government officials and hand over some Covid-19-related support to the government of Nepal.
