India increases grant amount for Nepal

Kathmandu, February 1

India has increased the amount of grant assistance for Nepal in the next fiscal year 2021/22.

As Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the annual budget for the fiscal year beginning April 1, she said Nepal would get IRs 9.92 billion (equal to NRs 15.87 billion) the next year.

It is IRs 1.12 billion (equal to NRs 1.89 billion) more than Nepal is getting this year. The current year’s grant amount was way less than what Nepal had got in the previous year, IRs 11.98 billion

Meanwhile, India also announced grants for Bhutan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and Myanmar.
