Kathmandu, November 4
Home Minister Sudan Gurung has conferred the insignia of Inspector General of Police (IGP) on newly appointed Nepal Police chief Dr Manoj Kumar KC.
Gurung presented KC with the insignia at a programme held at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday.
Previously, the home secretary had been responsible for conferring the IGP insignia.
The Cabinet appointed KC as IGP at a meeting earlier on Wednesday. The government removed Dan Bahadur Karki from the post and appointed KC in his place.
Karki has been assigned the role of special security adviser to the Prime Minister.
