ICC World Cricket League Championship: Nepal team announced for UAE clashes

Kathmandu, November 27

The Nepal team for two matches against the United Arab Emirates under the ICC World Cricket League Championship have been announced on Monday.

Paras Khadka leads the 18-member team as captain in the matches scheduled for December 6 and 8.

ICC representative Aminul Islam, Nepal’s head coach Jagat Tamata and Khadka himself made the selection.

Other members of the team include Gyanendra Malla (vice-captain), Shakti Gauchan, Basanta Regmi, Sharad Vesawkar, Binod Bhandari, Sompal Kami, Sagar Pun, Mohammad Arif Shekh, Karan KC, Sandeep Lamichhane, Dipendra Singh Airee, Dilip Nath and Lalit Bhandari.

Kushal Bhurtel, Anil Kumar Sah, Jitendra Kumar Mukhiya and Siddhanta Lohani have been included as extra players.

The Nepal team will leave for the UAE on Wednesday. They will play two practice matches with the United States and Kenya before the UAE clashes.

As Nepal have already been relegated from the Championship, the matches with be just a prestige issue for Nepal.
