Hotels in Suraha, Bharatpur preparing to run as quarantine camps

Preparations are underway to turn 25 hotels in Sauraha of Chitwan into quarantine facilities. In addition, 22 hotels in Bharatpur are also being turned into quarantine camps.

The Regional Hotel Association Sauraha has made public the list of hotels to be turned into quarantine sites. The Association Chair Deepak Bhattarai informs Sauraha will have 591 beds for quarantine.

For the quarantine facility, the hotels have determined rates varying from Rs 2,000 to 8,000 for food and lodging per day, according to their agreement with the government, Bhattarai adds.

Likewise, hotels in Bharatpur are also gearing up for the possibility to change their space into quarantine facilities. Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Bhattarai has urged the hoteliers to come up with clear rate cards and prepare for the situation.

The government recently came up with the provision to put the rescued Nepalis from abroad in hotels for a prescribed quarantine period.
