Home Minister praises security agencies for their role during Xi Jinping trip

Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has appreciated Nepal Police, Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and National Investigation Department claiming their effective security arrangement during the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Kathmandu on Saturday and Sunday.

Thapa says high-ranking officials involved in policy formation and personnel deployed in the field contributed to the success of Xi’s trip.

Speaking with officials of the agencies during a meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday, the minister said the agencies had delivered a message that the security arrangement of Nepal was also of the world standard. He claimed that the Chinese side also appreciated Nepal for tight security.

Meanwhile, Thapa directed the officials to make sure that no anti-China activities take place in the country.

Speaking at the meeting, Home Secretary Prem Kumar Rai said the security experience during Xi’s visit would be helpful in the future.
