Kathmandu, September 9
Samajwadi Party Nepal leader and former minister Hisila Yami has sustained injuries in a scooter accident in Lalitpur on Sunday. Yami, the wife of party chairman and former prime minister Baburam Bhattarai, is undergoing treatment at Gwarko-based B&B Hospital.
Yami was riding pillion on the two-wheeler which one of her aides was riding. While they were heading to the party office to participate in a function, a motorbike had hit them at Gwarko.
Meanwhile, the party’s publicity department’s deputy chief Bishwadeep Pandey says Yami’s health condition has significantly improved. “She was asking people visiting her if she was hurt in the accident. But now, she is normal,” Pandey says, “Perhaps the hospital will discharge her today.”
Meanwhile, police arrested the rider of the motorbike that hit the leader and initiated legal action.
