Himalaya Airlines to fly Kathmandu-Dhaka route from Monday

 

Kathmandu, July 21

Himalaya Airlines, a private carrier based in Kathmandu, is all set to fly to Dhaka from Kathmandu to bring in more Bangladeshi tourists to Nepal.

The airlines, which will start the service on Monday, will fly to Dhaka three days a week, said vice-president Bijay Shrestha. “We are excited to fly to Bangladesh, which has potential to become a tourism market for Nepal,” said Shrestha.

According to the airlines, the H9 678 flight will depart from Kathmandu at 11:10 hrs and land in Dhaka at 13:! hrs. The same A320 will then return to Kathmandu under the flight number H9 679 at 14:10 hrs local time and land in Kathmandu at 15:20 hrs. The airlines, which has three Airbus A320s, flies ti Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Dammam.

Currently, only the national flag carrier of Bangladesh, Biman, flies on the Kathmandu-Dhaka route. Another private Bangladesh-based airline, US-Bangla, cancelled its flights to Kathmandu following a fatal accident at Tribhuvan International Airport, which claimed 51 lives.
