Likewise, it covered 2.87 km road with gravel everyday on average in that period. The pace of opening up the new tracks is relatively slow as it opened 863 metre track everyday on average.

Data collected by the Department of Roads say that the government blacktopped 915 road in one year. The length of roads covered with gravels this year is 1,050 km whereas the length of new tracks is 315 km.

Works done by provincial and federal governments has not been covered in the data.

Acting Director General of the Department, Shiva Hari Sapkota, says the amount of works performed by the Department this year is better than records of past few years.

Meanwhile, it also constructed 243 bridges in one year. Sapkota views it is a big leap from the previous years as at most 125 bridges would be constructed in one year in the past.
