Nilu Dolma Sherpa’s How Funny is going to be released on April 22. Director Sherpa says the movie is a comic fare that will especially appeal to the female audience.
The movie, according to Sherpa, tells the tale of two young women, whose charming quirks make for a fun caper.
“I hope that girls will come to see the movie and they will bring along their boyfriends. The boyfriends, I hope, will bring other girls to the theater,” says Sherpa jokingly.
Sherpa has no delusions about the tone her movie has and its appeal to the audience. “I want to make a film that is successful financially,” says Sherpa. “I want to be known as a ‘hit filmmaker.’”
How Funny is produced by former Miss Nepal Malvika Subba. The Priyanka Karki, Keki Adhikari-starrer will also feature Dayahang Rai and Anup Bikram Shahi in other roles. Sherpa says her 12-year-long friendship with Subba was an assurance for the former beauty queen to invest in the movie.
“It was Malvika who encouraged me to join film school,” Sherpa says.
