Four arrested after NCP Kavre leader succumbs to injuries in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, February 6

After being reported that a man is lying seriously injured at a local restaurant in Naya Baneshwar of Kathmandu, the personnel from the nearby Metropolitan Police Circle rushed there on Tuesday night.

They took Hari Dev Giri, a local leader of the Nepal Communist Party in Kavre district, from D Cafe and Kitchen Restaurant to the Civil Service Hospital at around 10 pm, but the doctors declared him dead.

Police have suspected that Giri was attacked, and hence have launched an investigation. DSP Hobindra Bogati at the Metropolitan Police Range says four persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the case.

“We have nabbed the restaurant operator and staff for an inquiry,” he says, “Further investigation is underway.”

It has been learned that there were bruises on his head, neck, and thighs. His one leg was broken. A source says he was drinking at the restaurant from 9 am that day.
